I have notified ASUS of the issues but nothing has been resolved by them.

Because of this, I do NOT recommend using them on ASUS desktop motherboards. I have been told by LSI that they have had problems with ASUS motherboards. I put a small fan in the processor heat sink to help keep it cool. Overall Review: I have two of these cards on an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 motherboard. Their recent 8.1 driver and firmware update made my computer almost totally unusable. They know it is a firmware issue but they aren't very fast in fixing some things. The hard drive activity light feature on the card never has worked even though reported approximately six months ago. That was finally fixed though but I'm getting card related errors and disk errors in the Event Viewer running Windows 8.1 on two computers. The BIG problem was getting the computers to boot afterward into Windows.Ĭons: From the beginning I did have trouble with their firmware on a computer running Windows 8 with an ASUS Sabertooth motherboard and had to revert back to an older version. It appears to have good data transfer rates in the little testing I did. Pros: The LSI MegaRAID SAS 9271-4i RAID card was easy to set up with the included software and flash the firmware although I did need to call their Support for a little help.
